The Wonders of Whimple

All about us

The 'Wonders of Whimple' are a group of women based in a tiny Devon village, raising money for amazing causes.

Ranging from 18-85 years of age, the 'WOWs' also wish to change the common perception that women's bodies have to be a certain size and shape to be considered worthy. Health and beauty come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and the 'WOWs' would love women to become more comfortable in their own bodies and live their lives to the fullest.

Last year these phenomenal women raised over £5000 by producing a 'naked calendar' and this year their project has a Christmas theme with cards and wrapping paper being produced.

All the money raised will go to these two great causes:

'Breast Cancer Now',

The UK's largest breast cancer research charity, dedicated to funding research into this devastating disease.

'The Body Image Movement'

Taryn Brunfitt, the Director of the award winning documentary 'Embrace', is currently fundraising in order to make another important film exploring the world of body image through the eyes of children.

This much needed film will cover topics including social media, photoshopping, 'fitspiration', the influence of media and advertising on body image and role models.

The film will unpack why body image has become a global problem of epidemic proportions and will offer solutions to help children to foster a positive body image.

If you've seen 'Embrace', then you will know how powerful 'Embrace Kids' will be - created with the same passion, heart and soul - just for a younger audience (9-14 years old).

The 'Wonders of Whimple' would love you to support them with their work, not only changing the perception of how many see a women's body, but also raising money for great causes.

Please follow them on social media to keep up to date with their adventures.
